Is the earth getting closer to the sun?

Due mostly to friction, Earth is getting a little slower each year. This means that it does get slightly closer to the sun each year. This is very slow and will seem insignificant by the time sun itself expands beyond the inner planets, in tens of trillions of years.

As the sun ages, it expands. This expansion will eventually cause the sun's surface to reach Earth. This is expected to take many thousands of years, if not millions. The sun will be a Red Giant at that point. So, the sun is actually getting closer to Earth.

No, the Earth is in a stable orbit around the sun which doesn't change. Throughout the course of Earth's early revolution around the sun the distance between the Earth and the sun varies, but it is stable within this variation.

No the earth is not getting closer to the sun. The Bible says that God hung the stars and the sun in the sky and that He controls nature and the seasons. So they are not going to just change and bring disaster on the earth. To change our position to the sun would alter everything.
