It depends on the make and model of your mower. Many mowers are constructed so that it is very difficult to access the drive belt without removing the engine. If your mower allows easy access to the drive belt, it is very easy to replace using standard tools that most homeowners already have.

Lean the mower on it's side. Underneath you'll see a series of pullies. One should have an adjustment bolt. Loosten the bolt, slide the pully closer to the other pullies and slip the new belt over them all. Pull the adjustment pully tight and secure the bolt. Your done.

It is actually quite simple and almost anyone can do it. You can go to your brand web site and they should have step by step instructions to help you on your way.

Replacement can be difficult without having the right tools. On most models, you will have to remove the rear wheel that the belt is located on. Next you will have to remove the cover that is on the top or underside of the mower. Then you can remove the belt.

It is usually an easy task. All that is required is the removal of a couple of bolts and releasing the tension on the old belt if present. Once the old belt is removed just reinstall the new belt.

Yeah I think it is pretty difficult to replace from my experience. It's better to contact a professional. If you want detailed directions then look it up on ehow for step to step.

Most self propell drive belt s can be replaced by just removing the plate off the bottom of the mower. After taking plate off you will need to take the rear wheel off the mower and slip the belt over the pulley that is on the axle and then slip belt over other pulley. Replace plate.
