Red Stripe is brewed in Jamaica. The beer itself is brewed in Jamaica, then in most cases bottled elsewhere, most often in the United States. The original company, D&G Limited, began as a soft drink company, taking over the charter to brew beer later. Red Stripe was first brewed in 1928.

Red Stripe is a Jamaican lager, but is now actually brewed in the UK. I believe the brewing in the UK started around in the 1970s. It is a full bodied brew.
