Is raising minnows a lucrative business?

I live in an area with lots of big fishing lakes.

This depends on whether or not you have a customer. Many shops catering to fishermen offer live bait, dried bait, and artificial bait. Unless you can mass produce minnows and have lined up customers who will buy it, you may end up raising fish no one will buy. Especially when customers can catch their own minnows or worms.

It depends on the competition. If others are into it, let's say twelce corporations, perhaps even global players, then stay away. You will always get into troubles, especially with patents and the like.

Raising minnows is definitely not a lucrative business. Very recently there was a frost in Florida that devastated all the tropical fish farms, putting many people out of business.

In a high fishing area, minnows can be profitable, but only if you can provide them in bulk (think commercial fishermen) and know how to raise them effectively.

This is great if you live by fishing lakes and you can stand the smell. This is a full time job and requires alot of patience.
