It can be dangerous because it acts just like the real thing. It speeds up your system, so it puts you at risk for heart attacks and even heat stroke.

Pseudoephedrine is quite effective in relieving nasal problems originating from cold, allergies and hay fever. Pseudoephedrine falls into the group of medicines popularly know as sympathomimetic agents mainly applied as nasal decongestants. The relation between Pseudoephedrine and rebound headaches is quite significant.

Pseudoephedrine is something that you can get somewhat addicted to. Its what makes good night time medicines so good dulling sinus/flu pains and allowing your body to relax. Its hard to find by itself however.

Pseudophedrine does not allow you to relax. In fact it speeds up your system. It should not be taken near bedtime because it can keep you awake.  add a comment

Pseudoephedrine is a stimulant and can be addictive, but this is not a common problem. The biggest problem with pseudoephedrine is that it is used in the manufacture of methamphetamines. Many pharmacies are now keeping medications with pseudoephedrine behind the counter or limiting the amount that customers can buy in order to prevent the creation of methamphetamines.
