Pretty much. They are trying to push their boundaries and see what you will let them get away with and how much you really know. Just stick to the punishment you give.

With in reason, Yes. They are just getting to the age to learn to try to mulniplate people and things to get what they want or to try to stay out of trouble.

Young children tend to pick up on habits easy at an early age. Your child may be lying to avoid punishment or to pursue some kind of attention. Its best you catch them in their own lie an teach them the value of what a lie means an can cause.

Yes. At this age children do not understand lying and are trying to see what they can get away with. You will need to explain to your child how lying is not good behavior and if he or she keeps it up they will be punished.
