Is it worth staying at the hotels near the Metro station in Washington DC?

Driving and parking in the DC area can be pretty hectic, so there are definitely benefits to having direct access to the metro instead. DC has a great public transportation system with a wide scope, and so it may be much easier to see the city that way.

It is worth it only if you plan on using public transportation for the duration of your visit. Washington DC is definitely a walking city and the Metro will get you to all the neighborhoods and destinations you are likely to want to to visit. However if you are driving or renting a car while you're there, it isn't necessary.

Not usually, as hotels located right on the Metro are usually extremely expensive. However, hotels in Arlington, VA are on the metro line and tend to be cheaper.

It is very helpful to stay near a Metro station because staying near a station will make it easier for you to get around the city and the areas surrounding the city. It could help cut down on your transportation costs.

You might as well unless you can get a good deal elsewhere. All the areas in this town are about the same for hotel rates.
