It depends on what kind of EGR problems it has and how much mechanical ability you have. An EGR assembly can be repaired or replaced if necessary. If you can do the work yourself than you can save a lot of money. Otherwise the cost of having a shop fix it may be more than what it is worth.

Oh yes it is definately worth it to keep you Ranger. But,you will have to ask yourself .1) Is the EGR valve the only problem. If it is and it's like 2002 or newer or 10k truck its worth it. 2) Do you have a yard or your own property . ehow will give instructions and EGR cost about $150.00

If it is only the EGR valve causing problems then I would say it worth keeping. It could be a cheap fix if you clean or replace it yourself.

It is if it is an easy fix. Some EGR problems can become quite a pain and you will never be able to fix it and some are real simple and cheap.

It determines how badly the problem persist. A EGR cost at least $150.00 dollars. Yes it is worth if it doesn't have any other tons of added problems. Could be alot more cheaper if you are able to fix it yourself instead of a shop.

It's really up to you. If you love the Ranger keep it. Just change it's EGR, sensor or valve. But if feelings is not a priority dispose it.
