children

Question by  horse (23)

Is it wise to sign a child up with a modelling agency?

It costs quite a bit to sign them up.

If you know other children (not introduced to you through the agency) who have used the agency successfully, then and only then should you consider it. Otherwise, the agency may never find work for the child and just keep saying that it is a "slow time" until you give up.

I f you want your child into modeling and if they can stay still and follow directions you are fine. But you shouldn't have to pay to sign up a child with a modeling agency. I have went to a couple with my son and they do not charge you to sign up.

It would depend on how long you want your child to model. I know an agency can professional represent your child and make him or her stay out among the competition. I would just way the cost against the pros and cons and base my choice on that.

I think the child needs to be old enough to make their decision and then yes you pay the cost because that could be their job one day
