Is it true that gerbils stink less than hamsters?

Neither animal is especially smelly if their habitat is large enough and kept clean enough. WIth proper care it will be fine.

Yes. Gerbils are cleaner than hamsters for a very good reason. Female hamsters have scent glands that they use to mark the corners of their cage with. The scent is absolutely disgusting! Gerbils may mark the sides of their cage but the smell is almost undetectable. Both hamster and gerbil cages will need to be cleaned once a week.

They both produce about the same amount of odor, so it all depends on how much you clean their cage.

Yes it is true. They seem to have less smelly waste products. You also will not have to change the cage as much if you have a gerbil

As long as the gerbil cage is cleaned weakly it won't stink same with hamsters.
