Any hormone regulating medications like NuvaRing can help acne. Birth control medications have hormones in them and the hormones in the medicine could help acne that is caused by imbalances in hormones. There are side effects to hormones and birth control medicines that you should be aware of such as: stroke and heart attack.

There is a considerable body of evidence that birth control medications that use estrogen can often help reduce acne. The active ingredient in Nuvaring is estrogen although the dose is lower than many other types of birth control. Not everyone benefits from estrogen for reducing acne.

Yes, it it true that a NuvaRing could be helping your acne. Many birth control pills or other hormone methods have the ability to help with acne. However, these hormone pills also have the ability to cause acne, it really depends on each persons hormone levels and the contraceptive they are using.

Yes, many types of birth control may be useful in clearing up mild to moderate acne. However, this should not be the only basis of using this product.

To the contrary, the NuvaRing is known to have the side effect of causing acne. Many women have reported the unsightly and uncomfortable side effect of acne wile using the NuvaRing, even when they had never experienced acne issues before. So, while oral contraceptives may actually help acne, the NuvaRing may be the opposite.
