Is it safe to take an IRS survey on the phone?

As long as the survey does not require you to give out any personal identifying information such as your name, SSN, credit card numbers, etc. Surveys are meant to be anonymous regardless of mode of delivery and the questions asked in the survey should be phrased for a general audience.

As long as the company you are taking the test for is a valid and reputable company, it will be fine to take the survey over the phone. Be wary of bad companies!

It's mostly safe but it wouldn't hurt to do some research about the company, make sure they are not stealing your personal information or location. Also if they call you its most probably a scam.

If they call you don't do it. It could be someone trying to steal information. If you called them, you know it is the IRS and you are pretty safe.
