Anytime you use the Internet to buy things you want to make sure that the site you're buying from is secured. If it is you'll see a lock in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. That's more important than what you're using to browse the Internet.

Using a mobile phone for purchases is just as safe as using the internet for purchases with one major exception: Bluetooth. If your mobile phone has Bluetooth functionality enabled, there have been a number of vulnerabilities shown that allow a Bluetooth phone to be hacked. As for simply having your purchase data snatched from the air, don't worry.

Yes and no. Some phones have secure connections, which would be as safe as buying things online on a computer. Some phone carriers also provide a guarantee of this, which is added protection. Some phones do not have a secure connection, so it would not be safe.

No, because sensitive data could leak to eavesdroppers. Flaws in cellphone design can be exploited by average hacker at moderate costs these days.

in my opinion, it is not safe to use a cell phone to buy things as the signals might not be encrypted. also, these signals are easily accessed or tapped as they are everywhere. if i had a choice to use a computer with wired connection to a cell phone, i would choose the computer.

It's very safe to use a cell phone to buy items. It's important to not store your password(s) within your cell phone. You should also not purchase items right in front of other people. Remember to always treat your cell phone like it's a high value item and do not leave it around for other people to see or use.

Cell phones are like mini computers. Depending on the situation, it can be secure or it may not be, because a cell phone could get hacked into like a computer; however, there are many cell phone applications, that allows anyone to shop online with a credit card without showing their whole card number, by just typing in a PIN number.

Never use your cell phones to buy anything. Since cell phones are wireless the sound waves are not secure and it roams anywhere. They can be intercepted by anyone who has knowledge of how to do it. If you must do a purchase make sure it is done on a landline that is more secure.
