Sure. There are any number of online communities and games that let you do something like that. In "Second Life," you can even customize things to look like a picnic.

Virtual picnics are fun but preparation is required. Share the menu in advance (they may be required to "shop" for special items). Search the Internet for a "virtual" meeting place (send the website address with your invitation). Plan a time to meet using your favorite voice chat application.

Yes, You you need to organize a spot on internet first, it could be a game, skype or other IM. If you in same country you can order pizza for all attendees and drinks. It often done by the online gaming members, we did it with our world craft gaming team last month.

Yes it is possible and it has been done. You could try on a blog or forum setting. Also try Second Life. It's a virtual world!

Yes, much like how you plan a real-life picnic, a virtual picnic can also be planned out. I would probably setup a webcam session with the person i'd wish to bring the picnic. Except I would setup a grassy background behind me!

There are webs or blogs about nature, travels for example that write about an virtual picnic. They write what they think they must put at the picnic. Some games like Second Life allow to do this with your friends.

Depending on which software it is possible. To plan a picnic virtually will not give you any physical food or sensations at all though as virtually means imagined or not tangible.
