Is it okay to buy a used hot tub?

It's much cheaper than a new one.

As long as the tub doesn't leak and the pumps and filters work like they are supposed to, then you should not have a problem. Only downside, is depending on the age of the tub, it may be harder to get replacement parts if parts do fail from old age.

There is no inherent health risk in buying a used hot tub. But, this tub, like all others should be cleaned well, including the use of chlorine in proper amounts as the tub is running. Be sure you have seen it working, know it does not leak, and can move it without damaging it.

I think it is perfectly fine to buy a used hot tub if it is in your price range and in good condition. If you can save yourself a few hundred or thousands of dollars why not? Just put fresh water in and your good to go.

Yes! My Fiancee and I just purchased one this summer for a fraction of the cost of a new one. Just make sure that you know it works before you buy it. Go for one that the water hasn't been drained out of yet so you can see it work.
