So long as you are familiar with salt water aquariums, it should not be a problem to buy one used. Be sure that you check the tank thoroughly, look for any kind of cracks or abrasions in the glass. Ensure that all of the parts are together and the filter is working. Be sure that it's clean from stains.

Yes, it is OK to buy a used aquarium. One thing to look for is the seals around the edging. You may need to re-seal them. When buying, you are also better getting acrylic, it has a longer life. And, make sure to avoid any tanks that once housed reptiles.

As long as the salt water aquarium does not leak it would be okay to purchase a used one. Make sure to buy it from a trusted source that allows you to check for leakage, and if it is good after purchasing it clean it out thoroughly in case there are left over diseases from older fish.

Yeah it is fine to buy a used salt water aquarium as long as you change out the water of course. Also you can go and buy seperate little plants and objects to put in the aquarium to make it more custom to the way that you would like it to be.

This is never appropriate. The specific needs of aquarium owners with respect to their customization indicate their own personal tastes. It is the equivalent of wearing another man's tattoos. You would be best served customizing your own existing fresh water aquarium for these purposes and then branching out from there.

One of the first things i would do, is to complete clean the aquarium. Fill it with water and run the filter for a few days, monitoring the salt levels. When they are right level you start putting some fish in. I would be very careful not to over fill the tank with fish.
