It depends on what type of fish you want to put in the tank,and how thick the glass is. If you're going to get some hard hitting fish like an oscar or pacu, you want to make sure the glass is thick enough to take impacts from the fish.

You can get a good quality fish tank for a reasonable price if you shop around. It would depend on the size of the tank that you want.

Yes it is, but you should look for a few things which might point to the cheap price. Look for any cracks in the glass, how well the sealant was applied, and how thick the glass is. You want your glass somewhat thick because all the pressure the water will bring is going to be held in by that glass.

Its okay to buy a cheap fish tank, but it depends what you're using it for. If you're going to have a few goldfish, and its nothing "serious", then a cheap tank is fine. However, if you're going for quality of fish, then you want to get a better tank.
