Definitely. In addition to a good fortified pellet and unlimited grass hay, guinea pigs require about 1 cup of veg per day. Mostly leafy greens like red/green/romaine lettuce, cilantro, parsley, kale, endive, dandelion greens. Also bell peppers, corn husks. Baby carrots and fruits like cucumber, apples, tomatoes, grapes, berries, watermelon should be given less frequently, as a treat.

They actually need them. Here is a partial list of some of the foods that you can use: carrots, broccoli, celery, cucumber, grapes, satsuma oranges, parsley, fresh grass, kale, green pepper, seedless grapes and romaine lettuce. Check Jackies Guinea Piggies for more items and dosage amounts (very important).

Not only is is OK for a guinea pig to eat fruits and vegetables but it is what is best for them. In addition to vegetables and fruits guinea pigs should get high quality pellets and a hay. The fruits that you feed your guinea pig should be high in vitamin C since guinea pigs cannot make thier own.

Guinea pigs should eat a varied diet including packaged guinea pig food and fresh vegetables and fruit. When feeding fresh food focus more on vegetables than fruits.

I feed my guinea pigs timothy hay, alfalfa, a good mixed bag of Guinea pig food (pellets, etc) and fruits and veggies daily. In the summer we have a garden and they love the fresh lettuce and other veggies that comes out of it!
