It's definitely very normal to "shrink" as you age. Sometimes it's due to improper posture caused by weak stomach muscles that will no longer hold you as straight.

yes, it can be normal because as we age, we tend to lose bone density and this can make us appear stooped over and lose height. It is sometimes called a dowager's hump. It is really loss of bone mass and is a dangerous thing that causes the bones to be prone to breakage.

As we grow older, and due to gravity, our spine slowly compresses. This, along with various other factors, hunching over, posture, ruptured discs, can make you lose inches. So in other words, we actually do get shorter as we get older. If you think you may have a health condition or ruptured disc, see your doctor immediately.
