Parrots eat their feces(commonly called Poop or Poopie or poo) usually because some nutrient is missing from their diet. They also might eat feces they've developed it is bad habit.

Yes , this is normal for a caged parrot. A combination of boredom and curiousity as well as the smell of its previous meal may lead to it

If your parrot eats its' own feces it may be lacking proper nutrition or certain dietary minerals. This is not normal and a veterinarian should be consulted.

It's not unusual for a parrot to eat it's own feces. My parrot does on accident when it drops in its food bowl. It won't harm them, but try to prevent it because it can cause sickness over time with the bacteria. However, all birds eat their own feces from time to time.
