Even when menstrual cramps are at their strongest, they should never be as gripping as a charlie horse. Please visit your doctor and make sure you do not have endometriosis.

Severe menstrual cramps are not normal month after month. Typical menstrual cramps might vary in severity but should not cause you to double over in pain such as a charlie horse might. My recommendation would be to consult your physician to determine if you have something else going on that would cause such severe cramping.

Different women expierence cramps in different ways. Sharp cramps like a charlie horse aren't unusual, but if you're concerned you should consult an OBGYN.

Menstrual cramps will have different degrees of intensity depending on how thick your endomentrial lining becomes during your cycle. So to have cramps that feel like a charlie horse can be very normal.
