Is it hard to play the flute?

The flute is one of the more difficult instruments for a beginner, because it takes some time and practice to be able to produce any sounds at all. Once you learn how to blow it correctly, it is easier than a lot of others. Unlike a guitar or a keyboard, you only have to play one note at a time.

A flute is supposedly one of the easier instruments in the band to play. You blow across the top of the mouthpiece similar to the way you would blow across the top of an old-fashioned glass pop bottle in order to get the sound to come out of the flute.

Other than having to remember the fingering of the notes, which is the hardest part, the act of blowing the notes is the same mechanic as blowing into a glass bottle and getting it to make a sound.

Every instrument has its challenges and easy points. It's hard to get a sound from a flute. However it is relatively easy to learn the fingerings.

No, to play the flute is not a hard job. Rather, I would put it such a way that it is the easiest to play the flute as compared with other instruments.
