The difficulty of adding a phone jack to a room depends upon the type of construction of your home. A ground floor installation in a home with access to the bottom of the floor joists is more simple than an upstairs installation requiring the wire to be "fished" from the new jack location to the network interface box.

if you are using it for a phone, i would recommend a cordless phone. if you need the extra jack for dialup internet access, you should investigate the powerline networking options that are available; with these inexpensive systems, you can connect to your router over your power outlets.

Yes. I would recommend that you contact a professional for this installation. Or, is it possible that you could use a cordless phone with an expandable handset in the room?
