Is it common to have heart palpation while on your menstrual cycle?

My girlfriend has very strong heart palpation while on her cycle, she says it is normal but it seems odd to me.

Sometimes that can be normal because a woman's body is constantly changing and her hormones could make it feel like she is having strong heart palpations because her body is working harder to cleanse itself.

Yes, it is normal for some woman to have heart palpitations while on their menstrual cycle. The heart palpitations can become more apparent if you drink alcholic beverages or the estrogen level is higher. If they seem to worsen, she should see a doctor for an examination. Often times there is nothing to worry about.

A heart palpation are not normal during a menstrual cycle. It is never normal. She needs to see a doctor for a stronger diagnosis. She may have a mitral valve prolapse, which is essentially a floppy heart valve. However, heart rhythm irregularities can be fatal. She needs to see a doctor.

It really depends on her estrogen levels. Lower estrogen levels (especially during the beginning of menopause) may cause an individuals heart to palpitate. I wouldn't say that it is common but it does happen.
