It is not common to blister from bites but not unheard of. Most likely you scratched the area with something that had bacteria on it.. a dirty finger or hand. Also if you are bit by something you have never been bit by before a more allergic reaction can occur.

It is common to have irritation and swelling at bug bite sites. It is important that you know what bug has bitten you in case you need further treatment.

Blistering from bug bites tends to be due to a related infection or allergic reaction to the bite and venom injected by the bug. It is not common.

Whenever my son gets a bite from almost any type of insect he ends up with a blister which then pops and leaves a sore. If you have sensitive skin or an allergy to the bug which bites you a blister may form.
