Both are advantageous in their own ways. The hot water system will be a little less "green" but a little more cost effective. Geothermal is less cost effective but leaves a very small carbon footprint and will mostly be a leading heating source in the future once prices come down.

No, a geothermal heating system is amuch more efficient and dependable heating system than forced hot water. It's far more consistent and produces a more natural, less forceful heat. It also costs a lot less to run, and installation costs are usually negated after just a couple of years of use.

Forced water is more so not as efficient than that of a geothermal heating system. If you are wanting to make a switch, then you are making a good choice, though the geothermal heating system will has a lot more cost attached to it. to answer your question, yes geothermal is better, but will cost more to acquire.

I would say that forced hot water is better than the normal geothermal heating system because of the amount of energy needed.
