Even though you're not inhaling the smoke from cigarettes, you're not immune to the health effect; you're just experiencing slightly different ones from those of cigarettes. Research has shown that chewing tobacco can cause throat and oral cancer if chewed long-term. Quitting now can make a huge different in the long run.

Chewing tobacco has even more damaging effects than smoking cigarettes. When you chew tobacco you could be setting yourself up for oral cancer.

Yes, chewing tobacco is bad for you. Chewing tobacco may cause or increase the risk of contracting gum, cheek, tongue, and throat cancer. Additionally, carcinogens found in non-smoke tobacco, such as snuff or chewing, include: nitrosamines, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and radiation-emitting polonium. Gum recession and tooth decay are two other potential side-effects of chewing tobacco.
