A maxillary frenectomy is a simple procedure performed under local anesthesia and in an ordinary dentist's office. It usually heals quickly, with just a couple of stitches required.

Maxillary frenectomy surgery is considered safe, effective, minor surgery, done under local anesthesia in an office setting, to allow teeth to properly align. Dissolving stitches are used.
