Sadly this is a meaningless question without the name of the medication, the nature of your complaint, the number of doses per day,and if you mean weight in milligrams, or grams or volume in milliliters or whatever. You need to consult a qualified medical practitioner or at least a pharmacist.

Medications and dosage are chosen based on the patient's complaint, as well as other medications and the patient's other conditions and overall health. If you feel that the current dosage is not effective, call your physician and discuss it with him/her. The dosage may need adjusting, or the medication may be changed; but the physician must make that call.

This is considered a standard dose which is usually the minimal that is usually effective. Check with your doctor to up the dosage if it is not working.

The dosage is different for each medication and individual person, based on gender, weight, and disease. The medication may take time to work. Ask your doctor if you are concerned.
