If you shave, does the hair really come back thicker?

or is this just a myth?

No, hair does not come in thicker. It seems that way because when the hair grows back what you see and feel is the blunt end of a hair that was cut mid-shaft. When hair grows naturally the end of the hair is tapered. Hair that grows back after waxing feels finer because it is new growth.

Not thicker, but definitely much coarser....When I was young my mom told me, never shave your thighs, never did, and have very fine peach fuzz.....every other woman I know who did, they now have to either shave or wax...for life...Always listen to mom! :)

I was watching Oprah one day and Dr.Oz said that there is no difference but, if your a female and you shave the hairs on your chin they will come in looking like a mans stubble. So you may not want to.

It's a myth. It just looks thicker against your skin when it first comes back. I'm sure a lot of bald guys which it were so, because then they would just shave their heads and get their hair back!
