If you remarry before the age of 60, you lose your ex-husband's Social Security. The rules regarding pension payments depend on the state where you live.

The laws for this vary from state to state and can also vary depending upon his exact retirement plan. In most cases, however, you would lose your eligibility if you re-marry. You should ask a lawyer for a definitive answer, however.

The answer to this question depends on what is in the divorce decree. If you have been apportioned part of your ex's retirement with no exceptions, then if you remarry it makes no difference, you will keep receiving it.

If you received his retirement as part of the divorce settlement, it is yours and should not matter if you remarry. Better read your settlement papers.
