Talk to your vet first before you put any eye drops in your dogs eye. Human eye drops are not the same as dog eye drops.

For starters never use any drops or medications you did not get from your vet for that specific issue. If there is a tear in the eye adding drops or medication to it could cause a serious reaction both to the dog and your wallet. Best bet is to let the professional handle the diagnoses and medicating.

If you believe that the swollen eye is caused by an allergic reaction or debris you may be able to treat the eye with an OTC eye wash specifically for dogs. However, the eye could be swollen for many other reasons. You should consult a vet professional to determine to root cause of the swelling and proper medications to administer.

If your dogs are swollen you should not use any or of medications that your vet has not prescribed. Your dog could have a foreign body in the eye.
