Question by  Graydon (53)

I wanted a 1980 Volvo but can't afford the ones I've seen. What is a fair asking price?

I think people are trying to get too much money.

A fair asking price for a 1980 Volvo depends on the condition of the car. Typically, these cars are sold for around $2,000.

The price of car varies greatly. The price is dependent on one main factor i.e. condition. Better the condition higher will be the price. Normally 2000 dollar is fair price.

A usually value for one of these cars is about $2500. Some people try and get $3000 so they can open some wiggle room for negotiation. If you find one for more than $2000 then I would ask roughly $1500 and then when they counter offer hit them back with $2000.

On average the 1980 Volvo sells for around $2500.00 depending on condition and location. If the car is in great condition they may be asking for more.
