I took my dog for a walk to the park, she was fine on the way. however on the way home she started howling and is limping, the issue seems to be with her right paw, she is now licking it, what could it be?

Your girl probably stepped on something thorny, pebbles, or even gotten an insect bite or splinter on her paw. If there is any abnormal redness, swelling or any bleeding on the paw or if she doesn't improve within a day you should take her to the vet to be examined. The howling does seem to indicate whatever happened hurt.

Your dog probably got something stuck either directly in her paw or between the pads on her paw. Examine the paw in good lighting; if possible gently remove the object. She may be able to remove object with her mouth. If still limping in 24 hours, call your vet.

If persists, see a vet. Most likely she just got bit by an ant or other small bug. Look for a stinger, or splinter. Watch for swelling and redness.

There could be a couple things. One being that she may have something on her paw. Examine it could also be a bee bite. Consult your Vet if limping continues.
