If is not a severe injury you could try soaking or wrapping it in warm water. Ibuprofen, if not allergic to it, is very good to take for sore muscles.

If the injury is severe then you must consult an Ortho Doctor, if injury is mild, then stretching exercises can be given, if pain is there then hot packs and cold packs can be applies alternatevely. Stretching exercises must be taught by an physical therapist. Pain killers can be taken if severe pain is there.

Keep it cool and don't put weight on it. A massage of the muscles after an hour of so would also be a good idea.
