You will have to pay sales tax at the time of the sale. If the sale happened in Florida, then you will pay Florida sales tax only. Then you simply transport the car to Mississippi and enjoy it.

You should only pay sales tax in the place where the car is purchased. If you have proof of paying sales tax in Florida, Mississippi cannot double tax you. A car registration fee, however, is allowed.

The sales tax that you would be required to pay would be in the state where you purchased the car, here Florida. You may be required to pay a property tax in the state where you register the car, this would be separate from sales tax and is what you pay every year when you register the car.

You pay a sales tax in Florida because that is where you purchased the car. You reside in Mississippi and lincense your car there , so you pay a sales tax in Mississippi.
