Look in a repair book or online to find what voltage your looking for. Then use a voltmeter and probe the sensor wires to find the voltage output. Loosen the two screw on the sensor and turn it to change the voltage. One way will increase it and one will decrease it. Then tighten the screw back down.

Well turn on the sensor off and on and then you want to turn on the little switch (circular) on the sensor.

To set a new sensor or to re-position an old one you need a voltmeter and you should know what the voltage range should be. Then with the key on probe the contact of the switch and adjust the position until the voltage is in the correct range closed and wide open.

The first thing to do is look online or buy a manual to find what the sensors output should be. You can then loosen the sensor adjuster. Using a multimeter measure the voltage output of the senor closed, opening, and when wide open. Compare that to stock specifications and make adjustments as need. The re-tighten your adjuster.
