Jack the vehile up on jack stands. Remove the exhaust system. Remove the transmission. Remove all internal components (depending on auto or manual). The rear main seal is the seal between the engine and tranny and can be easily accessed at this point.

This is a fairly broad question because there are many different models of your type of car. I would either consult a mechanic personally, or refer to your user manual.

You are going to need to take the rear differential off of your car and then you can access the rear seal. You will need to take the drivshaft off and then you can pull the seal out and install the new seal. It is a timely job but you wont have a bad seal anymore.

Rear main seals require you to remove the oil pan and drop the crank if it is a one piece seal. If your lucky and have a two piece than the crank can stay in place. Once the pan is dropped you just replace the seal and add a little rtv sealant to the corners and put it together.

Jack it up, remove the passenger side wheel, and go to work, its directly in front of your face if your under it half way.

Search online for mechanic forums or ask the advice of a professional. If you do this repair incorrectly you will lose your oil while driving and it would most likely ruin your car engine.

remove the oil pan and drop the crank if its a one piece seal. Hopefully you see two of them so that the crank could stay into place. When pan is dropped just replace the seal, add little rtv sealant to the corners, put together. don't risk messing up engine. Have a professional do work if you don't know how.
