I am in the process of purchasing a used washing machine, I would like to make sure the owner is not lying to me about its age.

You will need the model and serial number off the machine. Then you should be able to take that information either call the manufacturer or look it up on their website. I also would suggest that you see the dishwasher work before you purchased it. Older model dishwasher parts are expensive or sometimes hard to find.

On the back of washing machines there is usually a plate that contains the manufacturer, model number, and serial number of the machine. The manufacture date should also be there.

With most appliances and electronics, there is a sticker on the device, usually the side or bottom. That sticker should have a date of manufacture on it.

Search for the manufacturing tag to get the model and serial numbers. Contact the manufacturer. With these numbers, they should be able to provide you with a manufacturing date.

You should check the product number on the back of the unit. Once you have the product number, just google that number to find out when that particular model was manufactured. Some models will be made over several years, but it should give you a good idea about how old it is.

You must find what model it was and deduct the years from when it was released, that will give you a general idea.
