Generally speaking, if you are not breastfeeding your infant, your period will resume in one to four months from the time you gave birth. Seek advice from your doctor if it has not resumed by 6 months post delivery. Breastfeeding women may not resume their period until after they stop breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is NOT a form of birthcontrol.
Most women resume menstruating 1-2 months after giving birth. Just remember that you can ovulate even if you have not had a period--use protection when you have sex.
The answer depends on whether or not you are breastfeeding. Those that breastfeed will not have a period for at least two to three months after giving birth. Those that don't breastfeed will have a period typically right at the two month mark after giving birth. Using contraceptives during this period is important.
The length of time it takes a women to get her period after giving birth varies from women to women. For many women it can take about 2 to 3 months before your period returns to normal. If you are nursing than this time frame will last even longer. It could take about 6 months on average.
I breastfed my baby until age 2. Just stopped 3 days ago.. still haven't had a period yet.. should be anytime soon. It's pretty normal depending upon amount you're breastfeeding, etc.. posted by Anonymous
I gave birth 5 weeks and a day ago and haven't had my period, although I think it's coming because some light bleeding has started. I bled for 4 weeks after the birth of my beautiful boy, not really too worried about my period starting again. Don't worry.
