Cats can often come back into heat a few days after giving birth, so it would be best to neuter a female cat as soon as possible after giving birth to kittens. The female cat will waste no time to come back into heat so it would be best to keep her away from any males until neutered.

Cats can come into heat a few days after giving birth. However, it is best if you can wait until her babies weans off of her milk. So it is best to keep her indoors and away from other intact males until the kittens are about 8 weeks of age.

A cat can go into heat again immediately after giving birth, especially if there are male cats around. Female cats can be drawn to go into heat when there is a male cat, so they can get pregnant essentially any time, even if they don't seem to be in heat.

A female cat can go into heat only a few days after giving birth. However, if you are thinking of having her neutered, you must wait until the newborn kittens have switched to solid food.
