Use something like "1 year ago today, the world became a better place", or "(child's name) is 1 year old! "

You should include the date, time, and activities scheduled for the party. You also should let parents know if they can drop their children off, or if they will have to be in attendance. Additionally, you should let every one know what the theme of the party is in the invitation.

Keep in mind that celebrating a child's first birthday is really more for the adults than the child. I would recommend something along the lines of "We would like you to share in our celebration of our son's first birthday. "

"[child's name] is turning one and you are invited to his birthday! The party will be held on [day of week, date, time] at [location]. Please confirm that you are coming by calling [give phone number]. " You can also list an email address at that point. You can use this format if emailing invitations as well.

If you're unsure there are always store bought invitations! Make sure to include the time, the place, who it's for and your phone number to R. S. V. P. You can include directions in the cards if needed.

Our little boy, (name of your son), is turning 1 years old! Come join us for a day full of fun and adventure on (date of party) at (location of party). Your presence would make this day memorable for our whole family, so please RSVP by (deadline to RSVP).
