How should I word birthday invitations for my two-year old niece to encourage donations for a swing set, rather than birthday presents?

I don't want to be rude, but that's what her parents really want to get for her.

Some will find this rude. However, saying " Anyone looking for gift ideas may contribute to the fund for a swing set that will be enjoyed for years to come.

You might try "We're having a Swingset Raising Party for (name)!" Inside or below write "Do you remember how people used to come together for a day of work and fun. We're trying to purchase and put up a swingset for (name), or just come for the Fun!
