First, make sure that the clippers are not dirty or full of hair. You can refer to the owners manual to call the company where they will direct you where you can send them, or you can check the phone book to find professional sharpeners in your local area.

You might not need to sharpen your dog clippers as they might just need to be cleaned. If this is the case, just take an old toothbrush to the blades to remove any build-up of hair. Unless you're using the clippers heavily, such as in a shelter for animals or a grooming business, you shouldn't have to sharpen the blades.

first of all, it is best not to sharpen dog clippers. they probably just need oil. but if you must sharpen them this is how to. one way is to use a phillips headscrew driver to remove the two screws holding the blades. remove first blade and sharpen with a bench grinder. reattach sharpened blade. that's it.

You could do it by hand with a file. Dog clipers are delicate instruments, so you don't want to grind them much or they will be garbage. They are also quite cheap if you just want to buy some new ones.

The best thing to do is to get a good blade sharpener or a grinder if you know what you are doing. The blade sharpener will make them sharper and you will be able to cut the dogs nails wwithout hurting them. It is sometimes cheaper to get a new pair of dog clippers though.

Use a small file and run it back and forth over the edge. Usually, it is recommended to to from top to bottem on both sides of the clippers. Or you could just buy a new pair?

The answer is that you should not sharpen your own clippers. That is something that should be sent to the groomers to have done.

You could take a knife or a pair of scissors and scrap them across the side of the clippers to sharpen them up.

Remove all traces with a small stiff brush. Clean the blades with a dry clean cloth. Just make sure to avoid build-up or dirt and hair - it makes cleaning easier next time.
