How to discipline your dog is an integral part of training your dog. When you teach her to sit, stay, etc., you will learn how to handle her when she doesn't follow commands. Pick up a good book on dog training or speak to the dog school instructor.

You can work on sit by tempting her with a treat. If she wants the treat she will have to sit for it or she doesn't get the treat.

In any situation that involves punishment for an animal, the punishment must have meaning and understanding for the offending pooch. The 'attention' of the dog is first required and to do that a person may gently take the bottom jaw, and direct it towards the punisher. Then let go of the jaw, and redirect the question.

Have where you have exercised her before training her like go for a nice long walk first get that energy out of her system. Then when you are done you go into a training mode with her. Start off with sit and praise the good behaviors and ignore the bad behavior you don't like. A basic no works with this.
