You need to provide them with food and (unchilled) water, obviously. There's commercial food specially meant for them available, and you can also give them some fruits or vegetables. You also need a sturdy, warm and clean roost (disinfect it if there were other animals there before). Watch out for poop clogging the venting area.

Chicks and hens need observation and care. One most important feature is cleanliness and healthy food. Water and feed should be carefully checked. Provide oyster shell so that the eggshells hens produce will be strong. Keep dry bedding in nests about 3-4 inches deep. Regular veterinarian check should be done.

Make sure to provide them with fresh water at all times. They should be fed a high protein food that includes grit. They also need to be kept warm at all times.

Give them a sheltered area such as a coop with a nesting box filled with straw. Provide an outdoor area using chicken wire so raccoons, weasles and other predators don't eat them. Also cover the top of the outdoor enclosure so birds of prey can't attack your chicks.
