Put the pot where there is good light, but no direct sun. However, there are some bromeliads that require direct sun, but most don't. Keep water in the "cup", and only water the soil about once a month. Rinse out the cup once in a while to keep the water in it from becoming stagnant.

For bromeliad plant, pots should be light and free draining and soil should contain organic matter and also water well and allow to dry before watering again. They can be ok with low and medium light level, but prefer moderate light and avoid direct sunlight or cold. Good care is needed.

Bromeliads should not be exposed directly to the sun. The best thing to do is place it by a window with gentle light coming through. You should water these plants once a week.

Bromeliads need very little care. As they are from tropical environments a humid atmosphere is beneficial to them, but the do fairly well even in the driest American areas. A mixture of sphagnum moss and good soil that is kept moist but not wet will serve the plant very well.

Bromeliads are very tollerant of drought but not of extreeme moisture. If conditions are too wet the roots will rot. Less is more when it comes to water.

Indoor bromeliads require well-draining potting soil. Do not keep them too wet or they will rot. Partial sunlight is best. Outdoor bromeliads do best in wqell-drained shaded areas.
