About 10-12 times a day. first thing in the morning, last thing at night, after being in it's crate, after naps, 5-10 min. after meals, minutes after drinking water, after playtime, after chewing on a bone or toy. The signals are pacing, whining, circling, sniffing, staring at you, wondering off.

It depends on how old the puppy is and size. A good rule of thumb is however many months the puppy is, that's how often it needs to go out.

Puppies go very often to the bathroom, aproximately every 2-4 hours when they are really small. Especially after napping, eating and playing.

How often a puppy goes to the bathroom is dependent on several factors. If the puppy sleeps a lot, it will not be very active in eating and drinking from the mother. Age is also a factor, because the puppy will not know when he or she is supposed to go so the go as often as they like.

Puppies will generally need go to the bathroom every two hours. This is a good rule of thumb to remember when trying to house train a dog. Once every two hours, both as a training exercise and to help the animal, a puppy should be walked outside to relieve themselves.
