The lowest price I found was 2.95. There are different sizes, 7"x9" being the most common. Some venues offer entire kits including a cookbook, and I would recommend those. I have bought this item, used it, and really enjoyed doing so. You can go as high as 39.95, it depends on your comfort level. You can buy all these online.

To roll my sushi I use a bamboo mat that I purchased from a craft store. It was two dollars! You can use any kind of bamboo mat that you can find. Sushi rollers can cost more because they are specialized for sushi but a mat works just as well.
