How much water do cockatiels need?

Cockatiels need fresh water available to them at all times. Drinking habits differs on the bird and the diet. Normally a cup of water is sufficient for several days provided that it is not contaminated by dropping, food, feather... etc. This can be achieved with a water bottle. But if a regular bowl is used, change the water daily.

I'm sure there is an exact numerical answer to this, but it's been my experience that when it comes to keeping animal hydrated numbers aren't that important. Individuals differ greatly depending on health and what they are used to. "As much as they'll drink" is my usual answer to this. Try looking up water bottles for birds.
